About Dr. Chen Kien Nam
Dr. Chen graduated from the University of Malaya with M.B.B.S in 1982. After spending two years in thedistrict hospital, he started training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Sarawak General Hospital in 1986. In 1988, he went to Leeds General Infirmary in the United Kingdom for further training under the British Council Fellowship Programme.There, he was further trained in the skill of colposcopy and Kiellands forceps delivery. He passed the MRCOG Examination in 1989 in London and was posted to Miri General Hospital as a clinical specialist in obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 1991, he was Posted back to the Sarawak General Hospital as the Head of the O & G Department. In 1992, he resigned from the government service to set up private practice at Damai Specialist Clinic for Women. He was admitted as a member of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia in 2005.He is a life member of the Malaysian Medical Association, Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Stampin Branch, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. He is also an ordinary member of the American Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine and Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London. Apart from practicing Obstetrics and Gynaecology, he has also developed a keen interest in Anti-Ageing Medicine particularly in the use of bio-identical hormones for the hormonal supplementation therapy, nutritional therapy, anti-oxidants and neutraceuticals.
